Using Boolean Search Operators
Boolean Searching is supported by most online databases and search engines. It is can be used to broaden or narrow your topic searches.AND

Will return documents that use either word.
(OR is a good option when searching several common spellings or synonyms.)
NOT
Narrows searches by excluding certain search terms. NOT will bring up documents that include the first term and exclude the second.

Will find documents that use words in a specific order or close proximity.
