Searching an Online Library Database

After you have selected a database, use some keywords from your prewriting to find articles that relate to your topic.

Once you hit search you may find that the database returns hundreds or thousands of articles that include your keyword(s). To decrease some of this volume try using the "refine your results" option. You can ensure that your results are scholarly (or peer reviewed), full text, or published after a specific date.

When you click on an article that you find promising, there is a host of new information that might further your search. Finding it hard to land on a fruitful search term? Try clicking on some of the search terms provided by the database. Or click the "Find Similar Results" link to find a list of related texts.
